International theme park operator Six Flags acquired Enchanted Parks/Wild Waves in 2001 with ambitious plans to modernize and improve the decades-old amusement park. Extensive planning and permitting requirements severely limited the construction time prior to the season opening. With over 60 separate work packages, Mountain’s scope of work included 8 concrete ride foundations, modifications to the elevated railroad ride, 30,000 sf of architectural concrete flatwork, ride entry and exit structures, concession and entrance structures, platforms, handrails, light posts and more.
In subsequent years, multiple additional capital improvement projects were completed. Highlights have included a water coaster canal, a water slide, a lighthouse, a wooden roller coaster station and numerous other themed sets and ride platforms.
