MEET OUR TEAM
President
Jim Mayer
Jim has over 30 years of management experience in manufacturing and construction-related businesses. His prior roles include several years as General Manager of Basalite Concrete Products and as well as sixteen years as Owner and President of Concut, Inc., a manufacturer of diamond tools and equipment. Jim deeply values the long-standing collaborative relationships that Mountain has built with its clients, sub-contractors, and team members over the years.
Vice President
Mike Mayer
Mike joined the Mountain team in early 2020, after spending 5 years running his own small construction business in Oregon. Mike cut his teeth as a carpenter and has a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and respect for the hard work that goes into every project. In his role at Mountain, he enjoys being a part of the construction process and seeing a building come together. Most recently, Mike oversaw Mountain’s successful completion of a 28 million dollar 150,000 sq ft industrial expansion project. Mountain’s team members make all the difference for Mike. “I love that people at Mountain take pride in their work. I believe that people here care about our projects and our clients. They go above and beyond, almost daily.”
General Superintendent/Safety Director
Jeff Patterson
With 27 years in the construction industry, Jeff got his start as a woodshop teacher. After completing a carpenter’s apprenticeship program, he worked his way through the ranks and earned the title of Superintendent in 2005. Dedicated to always doing the job right, Jeff works hard to ensure that every Mountain project has a personal touch and the client is always happy with the outcome. Jeff’s favorite part of working with clients is the moment they use their finished space for the first time. “That ‘new car smell’ brings a smile to everyone.”
Project Manager
Jeremy Patnoi
Jeremy has over 23 years of experience in the construction industry and has been part of the Mountain team since 2000. A natural problem solver, Jeremy enjoys working with clients through every step, from design to completion, to ensure their goals are achieved. A LEED accredited professional, Jeremy believes in going above and beyond on every project. “No matter how long you’ve been in this industry it never gets boring and there are always new things you learn about.”
Project Manager
Sarah Sherwood
Sarah joined the Mountain team in 2021 and quickly became one of our top project managers—overseeing nearly a dozen projects in her first year. Thorough and extremely detail-oriented, Sarah is a customer favorite and a joy to work with. For Sarah, it’s the team that makes Mountain stand out—she enjoys the time spent with team members and Mountain customers on projects. Renovations are one of her favorite areas of focus, particularly when it involves taking a space that’s outdated and making it new again. In Sarah’s eyes, the Mountain difference is most apparent in their commitment to relationships. “Mountain truly cares about their employees and customers. You can tell by the amazing relationships that we have with one another.”
Project Manager
Ken Schmidt
Ken joined the Mountain team in 2022 and has been in the industry since 1997. His favorite part of the job? Building relationships with great partners that result in natural and fluid coordination. Ken also gets a lot of satisfaction out of helping owners solve their problems by building a relationship, understanding their business, and finding a way to ensure the construction project provides the best solutions for their needs. For Ken, everything comes back to strong relationships. “Mountain’s long-term relationships with subcontractors, employees, clients and partners truly sets them apart from other contractors in the market.”
Project Manager
Rod McCarten
Rod comes to Mountain with over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Over the past three decades, Rod’s work has focused on commercial construction, multifamily, tenant improvement, and residential construction. Rod enjoys the variety and new challenges that arise daily in his current role. He relishes the opportunity to learn new things and build long-lasting relationships with fellow employees and subcontractors. In Rod’s opinion, the Mountain difference comes down to our deep commitment to our customers. “Mountain has very strong relationships with long-term customers. Those customers will come to us first without even thinking of going anywhere else.”
Controller
Sheri Cuellar
Sheri came to Mountain in 2018 with over 30 years of accounting and finance experience, 15 of which were spent in construction accounting. Her previous roles allow her to understand both the subcontractor and general contractor perspectives. A member of the South Sound Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association, Sheri is passionate about being a lifelong learner and finding creative solutions to any challenges that come her way. For Sheri, it’s the people that make Mountain different. “I laugh every day, and I truly enjoy every single person that I work with. I can honestly say this is a first for me in my career.”
