Mountain Construction

Institutional Construction Projects We’re Especially Proud of

At Mountain Construction, we take pride in all of our projects. Here are a few institutional commercial construction projects we’re especially proud of.

Saint Martin’s University Engineering Lab

The purpose of this design-build project was to accommodate the various lab facilities required for a state-of-the-art engineering program. This included a dedicated area for fluids, soils, robotics, fabrication, audio/visual, and computers.  The facility was constructed as a metal building system with large open lab areas, brick exterior wainscoting, and arched windows to complement the campus look.

Saint Martin’s University Recreation Center

Mountain Construction was hired to build a new student recreation center for this small, private university. The building houses a multipurpose court and a sports field house with an elevated indoor track, a 2-story fitness wing including weight and cardio machine rooms, and a group fitness studio.

The structure is a factory-engineered steel building system with masonry and a variety of metal claddings. The project achieved basic LEED certification.

Delivered under a negotiated design-build contract, this budget-driven project was awarded as the result of a competitive RFQ/interview process. Our scope included the design and construction of the building and site improvements.

Step By Step

When Krista Linden and the Step-by-Step Foundation needed to partner with a general contractor to build their new 11,000 sf event center, restaurant, and training facility they turned to Mountain Construction. The transformation of the old Van Lierop tulip farm bulb warehouse into a new event center and restaurant was a painstaking and loving process. The goal was to maintain and integrate the rustic character of the old pole-barn warehouse while combining a major structural upgrade with a beautiful new commercial kitchen capable of serving 600 people, a new restaurant and the best event center south of Seattle. Mountain teamed with Krista and the architect to bring Krista’s vision to reality. Step-by-Step helps thousands of single mothers throughout the South Puget Sound, providing resources and job training to help these mothers and children survive and thrive.
